Panel Focus: Is it an App Bubble that we are facing?

Even with the number of new apps growing exponentially with each passing day, market researchers have begun to notice certain trends might be indicative of an app bubble. The bubble is a trend which suggests that investors could be funneling funds into startups and new app ventures with little regard for the risks involved. In this panel at GMASA’16, a panel of experts will sit down and share their views on whether the app bubble does exist, the factors that could be contributing to it and what they think is the future of the app market in the light of a possible app bubble.

Meet the Panelists:

Aldi Adrian Hartanto: Aldi Adrian Hartanto is the SEA Team Lead at Fenox Venture Capital, a venture capital firm that was founded in 2011. At Fenox, Aldi works to build enterprise partnerships between portfolio startups and MNCs in the SEA region.

Girish Ramdas: Girish Ramdas is the co-founder and CEO of Magzter, a fast-growing, multi-platform digital news-stand that carries over 7000 publications from over 3000 publishers across the world. Backed by an experience that spans 19 years in the fields of Media, Mobile and Web Development, and 3 successful start-ups under his belt, Girish has helped Magzter grow its user-base to over 27 million users in just 4 years.

Laís de Oliveira: Laís de Oliveira is the founder of 8spaces.co, a community-driven platform that helps people find workspaces and meeting spaces. As an entrepreneur whose aims center on building thriving ecosystems for startups through community growth, Laís’ experience has been built on a number of ventures, including serving as Facilitator and Community Ambassador for MaGIC (Malaysian Global Innovation and Creativity Centre).

Gary Huang: Gary Huang, the International BD Director at NetEase Games, helps source mobile titles into the Chinese app market, and introduces self-developed games at NetEase to foreign markets. NetEase is a leading internet and technology company based in China, that develops popular mobile games, mobile applications, online games, e-mail services, advertising services and web portals.

Paul Noh: Paul Noh is the founder and CEO of UbiNuri, a platform that serves to publish and distribute games and app content both through local and global app stores. UbiNuri has helped hundreds of developers and established strategic partnerships with local Telcos that need a platform to distribute and get their apps into the ever-growing South East Asian app market.
