GMASA Bangkok, 2016: A Recap

We did it! It’s been a long few months of preparations, and our efforts have paid off. GMASA Bangkok’16 was a grand and smashing success. It’s been quite a day, and as we wind up, we bring you a quick rundown of the event:

GMASA Bangkok Inauguration

Dr. Pansak Siriruchatapong, Vice Minister for Information and Communication Technology of Thailand opened the event with an inaugural address. During the speech he noted that Thailand had the chance to become a hub for the digital world.

Scintillating Keynote Speeches

We had an exciting line up of fascinating and gripping keynote speeches from the industry’s top minds, including Prashant Dixit from VMAX, Maya Hari from Twitter, Fasai Pongpitaksopon from Google, Ronen Mense from AppsFlyer and Markku Lepisto from Amazon Web Services!

Fascinating Panels

An exciting line-up of panels featuring the industry’s leading entrepreneurs that were well-received by the audience. We had experts from Magzter, UbiNuri, AppsFlyer, InMobi, GetLinks, Aptoide, Branch Metrics, AppAnnie and Akamai.

Seven exhibition stalls from Vmax, Softlayer, ClinkAd, Adatha, Branch Metrics, NGT and Aptoide, featuring the latest technologies in the mobile industry were set up.

Our sponsor, Softlayer conducted two workshops for GMASA attendees. The workshops had an excellent turnout! Attendees came away with cool swag and T-shirts from Softlayer, plus $500 off on Softlayer’s services.

The Indie Pitch Fest

The Indie Pitch Fest saw the 10 shortlisted participants present their apps to the judges’ panel. Snoozefox’s “Chaos Sphere”, Eutragon’s “Swap” and Wasin Thonkaew’s “Zombie Hero: Revenge of Kiki” won the Fest, taking home cash prizes and Amazon Kindles! Moondance Studio’s “Astral Sigil” and Pipop Thongsen’s “Symphonic Puzzle” won special jury prizes.

The exciting evening drew to a close, as C R Venkatesh, Chairman of GMASA thanked the attendees and sponsors for the excellent turnout.
